The Ecology of yoga Retreat
April 6 – 12, 2024
Curacao
Yoga • Nature • Culture • Relaxation
This unique retreat is an exploration of ecological principles that govern the diversity, abundance, and distribution of life in the natural world around us, as well as our own.
Come join us on the beautiful island of Curacao where we will combine personal practices of yoga and reflection with exploration of the culture and natural history of the island. Marine Biologist Steph Archer will be our guide on the excursions, having spent thousands of hours immersed in Caribbean waters studying marine life, the ecosystems they form, and how our actions impact them. In addition to experiencing some of the natural magic of the island and learning about how it works, Nura will guide us through daily extended yoga practices that will invite us to reflect and experience some of our own inner magic on the mat.

Previous Retreat Reviews
This retreat is a perfect fit for those who love yoga and meditation. Theo and Nura are both experienced and supportive. Their presence, availability and observations were kind and generous. You will navigate emotional and physical landscapes you’ve never imagined. For those who are fascinated with Greek mythology and history, this will blow your mind. The locally grown food was nutritious, with a variety of delicious options. This was more than a retreat, it was a life altering experience and an opportunity to heal and grow.
The weekend was far more than just an opportunity to practice yoga together with an outstanding teacher. Nura facilitates and inspires re-thinking, gently but firmly nudging who-ever wants or needs it – to move out from a corner in which they are stuck and get the courage to move on. She had a very creative idea to make parallels about physical and mental/emotional exercises: pointing to those moments of self-challenge, where we try out a head-or hand-stand, getting to that “dangerous” tipping-point. Change needs courage. Nura conjures up some physical and emotional safety nets thanks to team work and listening skills – and last but not least: her sense of humour.
