Our intention for this retreat is to disconnect from the treadmill of our every-day life and to reconnect with what really matters – our Self. This precious time becomes an opportunity to turn within, examine ourselves, and figure out what needs to be realigned within ourselves and in our lives. On this retreat through the combination of connecting with nature, and specially designed yoga and meditation practices, we have the opportunity to engage with ourselves, moving through the layers of our personality and our external persona, to touch our innermost essence – our Self, Soul or Spirit.
The main purpose of the Minoan civilization was harmony. By being in this ancient and rich culture, we will have the opportunity to experience what a lot of us seek in our time – harmony and balance. Come activate your imaginative world, learn skills to facilitate your healing process, cultivate a deeper more authentic connection with yourself and what surrounds you!
We will also enjoy the spirit of the ‘real’ Greek vacation with the Greeks themselves! One of the most magical places in Greece, and some of the best beaches in the world are located around the little fishing villages in south Crete. Experience less touristy places with simple accommodations and hospitable locals. The food is fresh, and usually locally sourced! This is going to be one of the most delicious food experiences you ever had!
This retreat is co-facilitated by Theodore Kyriakos and Nura Madjzoub.
This is the longest yoga retreat I have been on, and the first that included a meditation session every day, also. I live in Switzerland and flew to Crete, to be a part of this very special and beautifully organized offering from Nura and Theo. It was obvious that many hours of ideas, inspections and thought had preceded this journey. The days were planned to include yoga practices in the mornings to the sound of the wind in the pines and the waves on the shore. The meditations in the evenings were inspired by sitting in the grounds at Knossos Palace, Roman built caves in Matalan, almost deserted beaches at sunset, and one evening at the mouth of a canyon we walked down to an extraordinary formed beach to the accompaniment of goats and their bells, the sun and a breeze moving over the thyme and through the franjipani trees. The days were beautifully paced and left time for talking to other people in the group or walking alone, reading, reviewing topics of yoga and meditation we had practiced alone or in groups. Theo was always on hand to explain and discuss both the legacy of the island and the tools of our meditation. Nura is just flat out the most exciting and encouraging yoga teacher on the face of the planet. She just carries you along. The expeditions were lively and we met and interacted with friendly, warm, hospitable people who love their island and their place in its history. The towns we visited were bright and unhurried and full of local craft and food, all beautifully displayed. I have to take a moment here to explain that the dinners we ate every night were mostly better and more tasty, more gorgeously prepared, than many world class restaurants I have been to. I would choose the dinners we all enjoyed every evening in Crete, their differences and similarities, the flavors, their energetic servers, to be honest highlights in a superbly created trip. Theo personally knew the restaurants and families where we ate, and nothing was a disappointment atmospherically, either! If you want to experience a new joy and a personal seek -to -find journey about yourself and others, take this journey, because you could not do it by yourself and discover as much about basically everything. It can give you as much as you want to take and as much as you want to leave behind…. both mentally and figuratively. I’m hopeful of future exploration with Team Nura and Theo.

I just want to thank both of you so much for everything! I am still processing the retreat and my trip to Crete. I am truly grateful for all of it and still wanting it not to be over. I feel you both went beyond and above to make this trip special for each one of us. For me it was a safe space to begin to unpack the loss of my mom, as well as enjoy the companionship of some pretty awesome people!

The retreat was a first for me, a very healing and special opportunity in a remarkably beautiful place, and experience that I will never forget. I can imagine it becoming an annual pilgrimage if I can possibly organise it! The group of people were all very lovely and kind, a really nice number of people as well, the accommodation was just gorgeous and the family who ran the Komis hotel were delightful. The atmosphere you both provided I believe gave us all safe space within which to express ourselves, show our strengths and weaknesses (be they physical, emotional or both!), and learn about ourselves in a completely unique way. I absolutely loved it and would be so happy to be able to go again.

This retreat vacation was the most relaxed I have ever been. There was a perfect balance or kicking back and some touristy things. Theo’s knowledge on Greece made for great expeditions. I met some wonderful people from around the world or at least Switzerland. I have already started to think about going next year same place different makes no difference. Nura and Theo make a wonderful team their guidance and support has an uplifting effect. Many thanks143 Sunny
